The Mahj Academy
Welcome to the Mahj Academy—a fun, relaxed way to learn American Mahjong.
Our goal is simple: once you graduate, you will have the confidence to walk up to any mahj table and feel completely at ease. From rules and etiquette to strategy and gameplay, we’ll guide you through everything you need to know—while having FUN.
Along the way, you’ll discover just how social, engaging, and yes…addicting mahjong can be.
Classes are intentionally small (up to 8 players) to keep the experience personal, interactive, and enjoyable.
Three session intro package - $200
This introductory per-person lesson package includes three 2hr sessions with the goal of graduating so you can comfortably play in The Mahj Social Society or with any other groups. A National Mahjongg League card ($15 value) and all items needed to play are included. 4-8 people per lesson. We can accommodate singles or groups up to 8. Let’s Mahj!
Single lesson - $65
Do you feel like you kinda know how to play but need a refresher on the rules and to increase your confidence before you play in The Mahj Social Society or with your neighborhood group? We are here for you! We can come to you or you can come to us and we will provide everything you need to get you mahjing!
Lessons include 2 hours of instruction - bring a friend/s or we will match you up, but need minimum of 4 per group.
National Mahjong cards available for purchase ($15).
